near the Rothko room are some galleries full of paintings and sculptures. there are windows with natural light coming in. You can wander around looking at some good things (trying to block the sound of clicks and beeps from digital shutters) and for once the welling hatred of TM is not there. Bravo old tate modern improved by new tower (meaning there's some space to put up some art in the old bit).
