I fee l the same way about Lorrie Moore. Her stories are okay, and yet... and yet... The bullshit detector goes off. They're 'professional' to a fault.

Check out this Franzen/Moore double whammy! :twisted:

read an ok lorrie moore " a gate at the stairs", but not up there with updike, with this level of writers you feel their effort.
