Distinguished philosopher - essentially idealist - and less distinguished art critic for The Nation - his Wikipedia page is not very good, but will have to do. It's still too early for proper obits. The Art Newspaper has jumped in, but it's pretty slight as well.
I rubbished his last book a couple of months ago, but I didn't think I owed him any favours. Now he's dead.
