saw this story in found copy of the sun this morning and in metro. in what way is recreation of cliched sexist imagery like this appropriate for international womens day?

Did I miss something? On my reading, the photographic recreations were done by two guys (probably gays) who like to dress-up and restage the covers with themselves as the couple. Still using a painted backdrop, just to labour the low camp tip. Yawn.

Didn't there used to be a couple of French guys/gays that used to do this sort of thing, but about 20 years ago?

;)

If you thought International Woman's Day a bit lame and cheesy - then this was definitely on the money.

I may be missing something in your ironic tone, but alex is a woman!

I stand corrected. Ironically.

The French couple I was thinking of were Gilles et somebody, or somebody et Gilles, anyone?
