Lindsay Pollock: new editor-in-chief of Art in America

Anyone who has every slogged through her tedious blog Art Market Views will know this woman has almost no interest in art beyond its marketing, certainly no opinions or curiousity about recent developments in painting, say, or installations, or curatorial policies, or anything that isn't directly related to being rich and famous.

This is a sad day, frankly.

But then, when benders like Ossian Ward applaud (on the artworldsalon.com blog) you realise this is part of a much wider downturn. Doubt I shall be buying it much from now on, nor am I interested in its online services.

Apparently the preceding editor-in-chief, Marcia Vetrocq (a veteran critic, promoted to the top in 2007-8) only found out about her dismissal in the New York Times... Class!
