BOYHOOD by Richard Linklater

Am a big fan of Linklater's before the sunrise series, so was maybe hoping for too much from this. The first half was pretty good, after a while I wasn't so much impressed by the real time lapse stuff (after all aren't movies about suspending disbelief, and our imaginations mean we can believe a man playing a woman etc etc etc), and the story had an inconsistent POV, more parents than boy, and without the sense of mystery which infuses childhood. By the end I was wishing the whiny teenager boy would just shut up and the film would end.
