Quite good tension, although I KNEW they were going to ban that slavery thing in the end, I mean duh, how would Obama be president otherwise. Day Lewis does Lincolns funny stories well, and the film gives every actor in the world the chance to wear funny facial hair, like an OAP version of Dalston. There's of course rather too much sentimental music telling you what to think, and not enough genuine racism and anger, but it does have an elegiac mood.
