Yeah the old Primal Scream number – remixed by Chem Bros, sometime in the early naughties (?) Sadly, it’s all a bit of blur now.
Why now? I don’t know – it was pathetically cheap at my local pump n dump clearing house. You know the kind of place – black bin-liners on the windows, at the arse end of a mall, blaring rap and blank staff with a collective age of 20, a grasp of English, that can at best be described as aspirational. Stuff just stands around in stacks, cartons with the lids flipped open. Help yourself! It can only be a matter of time before customers are asked to unload the van out the back. So my kinda place really. I think of it as research. Gauging rock bottom up close and personal. Anyway, inspite of the great beat I actually found myself listening to the lyrics of this one – ahem… a number of times…

Songwriters: Innes, Andrew; Gillespie, Bobby

Your soul don’t burn
You dark the sun you
Rain down fire on everyone
Scabs, police, government thieves
Venal psychic amputees
Parasitic your syphilitic
Parasitic your syphilitic

Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes, swastika eyes, swastika eyes

I’ll vent my spleen I’ll keep my dreams
My flesh my bones my soul I own
My mind’s a weapon immune from infection
Blood in my eyes, my vision is clear
Parasitic your syphilitic
Parasitic your syphilitic

Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes, swastika eyes, swastika eyes

I see your autosuggestion psychology
Elimination policy
A military industrial
Illusion of democracy

Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes
You got
Swastika eyes, swastika eyes, swastika eyes

I particularly liked the stanza about ‘a military industrial illusion of democracy’. At the time, I probably thought the lads were just a bit upset about a few things, but alas, time has only proven them to be oh so prescient. :ugeek:
