Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Gasp, it has a twist, then another. You feel the writers experiences stretched thin across the overly designed structure of this book. Flynn does create the usual readable tension of what will happen next, and what happens is of course not that interesting. Yet we read on. The protagonists cosciousnesses never seem much more than the shallow observations of a mediocre hollywood film.
