Wildly overrated by Jonathan, Zadie et al. I have now tried two of his books. The first was too mannered for words, and even his essays have too many capitalised nouns like Theme, which makes me think of Tom Wolfe, and lots of rather pious shucks cant we just love each other hippy crap in them. He may be the writers' writer but he is not this reader's writer.
