Bring out the bodies Hillary Mantel

always avoid historical novels, something ineffably dull, silly, anachronistic, and bourgeois about them, but actually this is pretty great. Even if Thomas Cromwell was nothing like this, who cares, Mantel takes you deep inside his mind, and the experience is thrilling, will try the ubiquitious wolf hall now.

What's "bourgeois" about historical novels?
And why didn't you read these ones in the correct order?

bourgeois: ie books as a lifestlye choice, historical must be good cos it's old/vinatage innit.
Read them in wrong order because i am pig headed.
