A book so good I have read it twice, voraciously, in 12 months. A visit to his aging mother's farm with his new wife and stepson. It is a revelation of human relationships, only very very occasionally straining to be just a bit too lyrical. But so so good in every tension , I could practically pick it up and read it again now. All life is contained within (at least late 20th Century white male middle class experience). Get it read it, be slightly disappointed cos I have raised your expectations so high.
