Chantal Joffe. (I haven't seen it)

Has anybody seen her show at Victoria Miro? I wont be able to and i was curious to know what does anybody think of it? Looks good on the website and in great a book you can flick through, linked to from the VM site, but no substitute for the real thing especially with a painter like her.
I didn't like the pastel works, but I have a bit of an aversion chalk pastels and I was surprised to see that she had used them to be honest. I would have thought she would have been more of an oil pastel lady.
Also, I know you're not a fan of dribbles Cap, what do you think here? She is a bit of a dribbler.
If I had a criticism of her work in general it has to do with her subject matter and how I feel it needs to somehow align better with her painting. It always seems at odds slightly to me, a bit stuck on or something. She has painted porn images (I have read but not seen), fashion models, writers she likes and friends and family etc. but I find all that a bit distracting. Maybe gallery blurb writers should stop making it a prominent factor in the work or else she should find some more particular, idiosyncratic source material. Something to get your teeth in to a bit more.... but what do I know?

You're right Jim: she's a bit of a dribbler. ;)
