Liked the Sonia Delaunay show at the Tate Modern. The colours in many of her abstracts are lovely, and the fabrics even better – beautiful and elegant enough to make Grayson Perry’s mouth water. But above all don’t miss the slide show (in Room 5) of dancers in costumes designed by Delaunay for her friend Sergei Diaghilev’s production of “Cleopatra” at the London Coliseum in 1918. They look like stills from a pre-make of “Carry on Cleopatra.” The dancer in the “Costume for a slave” looks more camp than a tent factory and is alone worth the price of admission.
