Poussin and rembrandt at the national gallery

Poussin did some sexy pictures, nymphs satyrs etc. The Nat Gallery primly/wittily says the satyr is hiding his excitement behind a tree. They are delicate, filled with their triangles and colour rhythms, and with time softened, and dreamy.

Onto Rembrandt, overexposed, but if you can see past the crusty paint and the hype, he is worth it, look into the blurry eyes, magically you go back 500 years or so, and face these clownish Dutchmen trying to be Renaissance-men, and doing better than that.
