I love this show. There is something great about the sheer number of cursorily painted Native Americans which excites my painterly blood. I particularly liked the room with all the portraits in a grid with odd black frames, I wish they had them all to hang. There is a touch of Goya here, and his painting occassionally ham fisted through sheer energy attains a panache of paint seeking to describe and lots to be done. They are more than the sum of their parts, and the history is kinda interesting too.
