Martin Schnur @ Essl Museum, Klosterneuburg

Marty gets a mid-career survey at Essl, which is sort of near Vienna. Strange stuff- my first reaction - what do you get when you cross David Salle with Eric Fischl?

The show is called Vorspiegelung or Pretence, but pretension might be closer to the mark. Here's another one. It isn't all babes of course, Marty does guys, sometimes lays 'em out in a very savvy Salle layout.

What's with all the shards of glass, you ask? Hey symbolism dude. Wasn't it David Bowie that sang I love the sound of breaking glass? Or was that arse? Anyway it's not great stuff I know, but if you're in the area, taking the Inspector Rex tour or whatever, worth a look. :|

The show runs - unbelievably - for about 6 months!

Yes I am jealous.

...Sometimes photo collages: (Salle....Fischl...)

Marty does have a touch, but it's probably a bit cautious. :?
