Seen this before, but went again, if you were to watch all the films you'd be there for ever and ever. I may have said this before. There were two films which stood out. One by Run Wrake made up of old kids book illustrations that was mesmerising. It's become familiar in contemporary art animation that sex and violence will be juxtaposed with the kiddish medium, but this was complete. The other was a polish guy's film from the 70s of people walking into a room which made Bill VIola look the pygmy he is. Seek them out. You wonder if all the labour of animation is it worth it to waylay some cretin like me for 5 mins of mild engagement. The Lumiere (could there be a better name for the first filmmakers) Bros. are of course glowing.
