Christopher Hanlon @ Domobaal

Is this guy hot or something? seems to be showing @ both Tim Taylor & Domo.

Obsessive, quirky but don't know if it has the reach to go big time. Artists like this are really looking for a cult following I suspect, thrive on the esoteric and trainspotter in us all, are content with small time.

Worth keeping an eye on, for a little while though....

Opening Friday 27th, 6-8 - Yeah I'm ahead of the pack for once - be there or be somewhere else, as we used to say.

8-)

Stuff like Untitled (oil on linen stretched over board, 39×50.5cm (15"×20") 2010, private collection Belgium - note that) - one of the show's larger works definitely remind me of Borremans (see the Belgium connection?)

As does The Lull , another biggish work - oil on linen stretched over board, 58×40cm (23"×16") 2010.

Doesn't quite have MB's brushy panache, but the obscure medical practices on the young is VERRR BORRRRRRRR

If he's hot I think it's because he's in the wake of Borremans, who the kids are just crrrrrazy about right now... ;)
