Paintings by Daria Karpov, Laura Oldfield Ford and Emma Talbot. Sounds like a Transition show, no? Well anyway a couple of bright young RCAs and a Yaley @ The Haley. Show runs to 2nd of April. Karpov's small painterly abstracts were new to me - although I couldn't see much in the way of slavic folktales in there - purportedly a source, according to the artist's statement. Artist's statements! Will I never learn? Anyway, brushy organic abstraction on an affordable scale. Like every other American painter these days, she's based in Brooklyn.

The Oldfield Ford and Talbot stuff was pretty much on message, by the brand. Nicely done and all, but...
