Somewhat forgotten Pop Artist from the 60s - went the St Martins route rather than RCA - does that explain anything? Anyway I note his website here as one of the slicker artist's sites I've visited.

Not exactly up to date - has he died? - In 2008 he seems to have had a thing about Amy Winehouse, bizarrely, and spurred him to revisit his Pop roots. Know how you feel old codger. I was taken with Domestic Perspective, 2008 68.5 x 33 cm, (irregular shape) oil on canvas.

Thanks for that. Looks like no-one's bothered to update the web site. Maybe it got forgotten in the will or the executor just couldn't be bothered. But like I say it's pretty fancy - Flash animations,mouse-over drop downs etc. I guess eventually the host company will pull it when someone stops paying the rent on it. True, he wasn't a front line Pop Artist, even on the British front, but I think he was sort of sincere.

Obviously the market hasn't forgotten him. It's only in some of the older books on Pop Art he gets elbowed to one side. I think because like Derek Boshier he did go off on a tangent for a while. But then so did Sigmar Polke (another disciple of the tone screen dot density take on photography-as-painting).

The Winehouse ones are definitely a return to form though, I'm glad they have their fans. Just hope it's not merely because of Amy's unfortunate end...
