Review:

It does'nt matter....In the Guardian this weekend, now that all are bored by the debacle that never
de bacalled itself by any other name, the non painting leprechaun has turned to the Guardian
demograph for their unbending ability to worship at the shrine of the Tainted Gallerists of Serotian
ordinaryness, I don't believe in genius (fnar fnar), I believe in freedom - "he must at some point
see himself saying these things whilst twat arsed journalists blithely write them down and
think....I'll say summit else daft since no-one seems capable of ignoring me"
Are Genius and Freedom exclusive elements that never exist together? No, they are not. DH says
there.s nothing more boring than an "artist" wanting to be taken seriously, DH says "Every time I
had a new idea..... I realised it had been done years ago"......funny that....comparing yourself to
Rembrandt is fine, Rembrandt the human that is, but to say anyone can paint like Rembrandt is....and
your point is? It is interesting to watch DH gradually devolve in front of audiences like The
Guardian who stake a large part of their investiture in such mythology, the article sports a
portrait of his holiness in a white fleece copying exactly the pose adopted by Derick Jarman and
this is a cunning little piece of media nipple tickling if ever there was since one can easily see
the collapsing argument thats being "controlled" by DH for the Guardianesques, where he believes in
freedom;thus denying Rembrandt his otherness, where he trots out all the bits of the B.a. Art
syllabus, quoting his lecturers who rather unsurprisingly regard him as their friend, extending this
elaborate academia pulping exercise right up to Francis Bacon's carpet burns, and this must surely
be the blind spot for the Monk of Capitalism, Hirst cannot be Francis Bacon, or anywhere near the
deprevated chaos that Bacon lived through each day, Bacon was not a family guy with a Guardian
parish to tend, he cannot tilt his paint brush at the windmills that Deryck Jarman assailed, he can
only mythologize money.
