From: Passy Glance Category: Art Date: 27 September 2009 Time: 12:10 PM Review: Interesting analogy, Eder and Joffe seem to inhabit a confusingly misogynist standpoint but Eder does'nt need to give his works away and can handle painting naturalistic style with more "craftsman like" techniques, introducing out of scale images of domesticity; the poodles and kittens alongside these crudely configured women, there is at least a dichotomy to add a simplistic tension. Quite why such images continue to be exhibited, as they neither shock or inform, one can only hazard a guess but they evoke a period in art history and I imagine that someone somewhere will recognize this work as contemporary art or as delightful period pieces worthy of a passing glance.
