"If you have to ask, you (probably) can't afford it" is a saying used to describe purchases of the
more difficult to attain items including authenticity and style by Financier J.P.Morgan to the
banker Henry Clay Pierce in 1802 dissuading him from buying a portrait of Himmler who at that point
posed no threat to the world.
