Women make up half the population, half the white, half the black, half the middle class population. There are not as many black artists as white artists, but women are not a minority group. I feel like arguments for more women are often diverted by this kind of reply, and I agree, it would be better if art was being made and shown by people of different class and race, but the glaring fact remains that WOMEN make up half of our population. This argument you put seems to avoid dealing with that clear fact. We could of course talk about the third world.
