From: F off Category: Art Date: 28 July 2009 Time: 07:02 AM Review: At the Serpentine Gallery there is a Jeff Koons exhibition of cast inflatable kids toys sometimes inserted in to a stack of plastic chairs (also cast), along with some paintings with Jeff Koons imagery – big pert boobs jump to mind, layered upon Popeye, and images of inflatable lobsters - as if we needed reminding of the surrealists love of the subconscious and (male) desire. The female naked body has been discretely cropped out of the on line images on the Serpentine web site, and no mention is made of the choice to objectify women in this way, it is, it seems taken for granted.
