From: pip Category: Art Date: 06 July 2009 Time: 05:10 PM Review: Jeff Koons can't paint and he can't sculpt. He cant put a picture together , he cant make a convincing collage. He cant create new meanings , like Rosenquist, he cant create formal dynamics. He cant be poignant, like Warhol, he cant be nasty like David Salle. The sculptures are even lamer. They are inert, empty, vapid, and not even amusing. Was Jeff Koons once good? Is Balloon Dog good? Bunny is good. Was Jim Beam Train good?.But this work is not good. This is truly the end of "the gilded age".
