From: foodie Category: Art Date: 18 June 2009 Time: 05:09 PM Review: I have enjoyed this series and the denouement is a banquet for service men and women and their families. The soldiers, sailors, airmen etc were picked from those serving in afghanistan. The repulsive saddening thing is seeing the ones hobbling or limping or on crutches, all dressed up for their thank you meal for being maimed in the cause of American foreign policy (bush years). The idea of people dying and killing and being injured and maiming, and being told to do this by our govt, chosen by us, is horrifying. It is truly sad, and no excellent food can stop our stomachs turning, from the vomit rising in our throats at the thought of state ordered death. What honour in this world?
