From: andon Category: Art Date: 04 June 2009 Time: 08:03 AM Review: I cant see the reason to show this work at the serpentine, mildly interesting documentaries about past progressives, but why the hell show them to a couple of folks sitting in a big darkened room. If video art is just tv documentary surely it is more appropriate to put it on youtube or on tv? WHAT is the compelling curatorial or artistic reason to project it up huge in a space which is neither good for showing films or where you usually have time or inclination to sit for 15 mins. Why use art object galleries for video which have no need to be presented as visual phenomonena? If film then show them in cinemas, if sketchy then on the net.
