See artists’ visions of architecture in Brabourne Lees, during the south east Festival of Architecture

Three artists with contrasting views of architecture will be opening their studios in Brabourne Lees
during the south east Festival of Architecture.

The Festival is co-ordinated by RIBA South East (which has offices in Tunbridge Wells) and the
Solent Centre for Architecture + Design, across the south east from 20 May to 28 June. Full details of
the Festival are on www.festivalofarchitecture.org .

Photographer Liz Garnett will display architectural photographs in her studio at 6 Mountbatten Way.
Liz, who has exhibited her photography all over Europe for the past 14 years, will be on hand to talk
about the advantages of the large format camera in architectural photography. For opening times
contact 01303 812678.

Sue Chapman, at 39 Prospect Way is also a photographer, who specialises in manipulating images
using Photoshop. Her studio will feature photographs of buildings and artworks in varying styles and
media. You will also be able to buy greetings cards and jewellery. For opening times contact 0845
0030060.

For something completely different, visit Mike Tremblay’s studio at Oylers Folly, Pound
Lane. ‘Escape the thatched cottage and tidy garden and enter the messy world of your imagination’
says Mike, who will display his abstract paintings of buildings. For opening times contact 01303
813499.

These open studios in Brabourne Lees are just a few of the 90 events during the south east Festival
of Architecture which, with the theme ‘Better Places, Better Spaces’, is taking place across the south
east. Most are free of charge.

The Festival coincides with Architect in the House, the popular scheme that that lets homeowners get
expert advice from an RIBA Chartered Architect in exchange for a donation to Shelter, the housing
and homelessness charity.

Visit www.festivalofarchitecture.org for the latest details of what’s happening during the south east
Festival of Architecture.
