Review:

So, Grayson Perry is asked by R4 in the light of the economic downturn , slump or recession will art
and culture improve as times get harder?, will the savage cut and thrust, the cold winds of fiscal
winter harden those hardiest of little green shoots of creativity and immolate the surplus.
Why ask Grayson Perry ? Why not ask an artist popularly known through an economic decline or better
still, an unknown artist who has survived several economic downturns whilst refusing to resort to
levering a non starting career into position with kiss n tell novelty tales of "otherness". " Would
the public recognize the difference between a Grayson Perry and all that ACCRETION building up in
the feckless art world ?
"No one should complain about having no money to do art", say's GP through the familiar Essex nasal
whine,he used to make collages on the kitchen table when he was on the dole and could do free
evening classes".
Or should all we "accretion" be welcoming GP out into his first media frost ? Hope I'm wordchecking
it correctly
