Review:

Oh plib , you really shouldn't be so hard on yourself . How could you know that your existential despair
is the start , but not the end, of your critical life ? Those feelings of futility are the goad, nay the
buttress , of the life of the mind . For you , non-meaning ; for me , catharsis ! I thank you, and I will not
forget the favour you have wrought . Crude as our musings were , who could I forget the dialectical
joust that became my highlight of the month of June. Yes, I hear you protest, I should get out more, but
how could I , chained as I was to my laptop and the unfolding cultural pugilism that became all the
sweeter as the urgency of our aphoristic blows grew ever more lurid .How it ended so quickly, its
brevity leaving me desirous of more combat in the field of cultural warfare; yet nobody has risen ,
nobody has taken your place, nobody has since dared take me on and challenge my subsequent
sophistry. Your gentle prose, your quiet passion for the films of Eric Rohmer and your love of the
novels of Anthony Trollope provided the perfect counterpoint to my brazen aesthetic braggadaccio ; I
beg you to return and share with us your latest enthusiasms ! Whilst others, complacent and trivial in
worldwidereview may baulk, your voice must be heard. Return Plib, or else forever hold your piece!
