However it was free, so why the hell not. Some varying in enthusiasm women helpers dressed as elves let you into a dark room with blaring music and reconstructions of random scenes of yuletide. No this is not Guantanamo Bay's UK clearing centre you mumble to yourself, after a while you get to board a small train which goes round in round circling an island of xmas junk while lipsticked vixens shake bells and lights flash. Not too terrifying and even fun if youre under six. Then you get off and are led into a private booth with sardonic santa and helper (a bit like a charity chugger), they ask obligatory questions, try to convince child to nag you for a £10 photo, and santa (in my case) tried to make some slightly innuendoey remarks which I fended off not wishing to play that game. Child gets cheap free book and you're off with child now overloaded with convictions about bearded buffoon.
