Review:

This is a great expo, worth two or three visits. Especially moving were the drawings, which seem
more immediate,Ghirlandaio 's drawing of that warty faced man painting especially, lacking the
distance engendered by oily sheen. There is a not great painting of a child with a childs drawing
which is also startling, reminding you of the vitality of life 450 years ago through the artist's version of
mawkish line. It is not jsut tricks and oddities, though they have put that ugly woman painting in which
we all used to gawp at as children, there are many stunning paintings by the great masters of the
renaissance, and many good royal portraits by an artist I had never heard of and whose name I have
forgotten. Must go back.
