Kristin Scott Thomas has an extraordinary face she is beautiful which is one reason we watch films to gaze at beauty and can act a bit too, the camera loves her, and she is the star of this show. the film is melodramatic and most of the audience were weeping at the end, which is a good thing. Even if you are unaware of war and povery and all that guff and even if the clever conversations of intellectuals in all films, especially french ones, always sound really stupid, a film worth seeing, a sort of fairy tale really with an ice princess at its heart.
