Review:

Where the hell did the newspapers drudge up the word spiv in relations to the credit crisis (which has
been going on for a longer period than the word crisis should apply to)? Have you ever heard anyone
use the word spiv? It seems to come from the 1950s, and feels musty and fake.

one defintion from http://www.thefreedictionary.com/spiv: spiv - a person without employment who
makes money by various dubious schemes; goes about smartly dressed and having a good time

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spiv1British : a man who lives by his wits without regular
employment

sounds just like the sort of person (artist) I want to be and not like a banker or hedge fund manager.

long live spivs.
