Review:

We end up at the Glass Room after the manager in a boutique in South Kensington suggested it.Her
service was so good- We left with 2 pairs of boots each- that we decided to give it a go. It was quite
busy but not noisy and, even though the people at the other tables were talking a lot, the soft music
was enough to make the ambience cool and relaxing.
Before all, we had a olive and truffle pate with a warm and crispy bread. Good to give us a time to
think about a quite tempting menu from starter to dessert.
For starter, Mina, my spanish friend who came to spend a weekend in London, decided to go for a
smoked fish plate with tuna, swordfish, marlin and eel, a bold and tasty combination. I opted for
mozzarella, grilled vegetables and cured meat. Have to admit that the mozzarella was so good that I
asked for another portion of it, especially because Mina, despite loving her smoked fish, also helped
herself to finish my soft, moisty and bright white cheese.
I was surprised to know that they serve Greco di Tufo, a full taste, fruity and refreshing wine, by the
glass. My favorite white wine ever.
For the main course I opted for a speck and truffle tagliolini while Mina went for Rice Flour Ravioli
filled with lobster in a mushroom sauce. My pasta was simple cooked, al dente, tasty and soft- I could
taste the truffle all the way through, but this time I was helping mylself on Mina plate. The combination
of the soft and light pasta with a refined cooked lobster and the quite strong but well combined sauce
made the dish just amazing. we opted for a sicilian chardonnay, well suggested by the manager.
Since we have not sweet teeth, we went for a cheese board as dessert. A rich and nice presented
mixture of english and italian cheese, washed down with Brachetto wine, a sparking dessert rose',
finished a night were the food occupied much of our conversation, more than clothes, shoes and
credit crunch.
The service was good paced, not rushed, quite casual, and not pushy. I am paying another visit soon.
