From: occasional architecture Category: Consumer Date: 12 June 2008 Time: 05:15 AM Review: Turned the beautiful soaring sense of freedom, you know when you walk into a station and have that sense of going places, INTO a shopping mall/ prison which makes you feel claustrophobic, all the spaces have been made mean. The glass walls which portect eurostar ruin the architecture and the vast corridor of shops is like some kind of forced consumer marching alley, instead of yearning and awe and travel, the station just makes you feel like fleeing it, turning the idea of itself upside down. Comprehensively ruined. Not to mention the sickening and sub-mediocre sculptures.
