From: J Category: Films Date: 24 May 2008 Time: 01:43 AM Review: Falling asleep in the middle is a convenient way of editing action adventure films, and leaves you refreshed for the denouement. What I saw of it was definitely not bad, the start even had an artificial arty beauty, B movie meets something from the fifities that is familiar but you haven't seen it for a while charm. As you get into it becomes like most of these films, a series of chases and fights, two toboggans, metaphorically, going down a mountain with people jumping from one to the other and stuff whizzing by. Indy had less of that computer game feel that movies of this type have suffered from in recent times, but still lacked that edge of the seat plot, or sense that the story was more than just a support for the set pieces. La Bouef was surprisingly not revolting, Indy is nimble for a 70 year old Jewish guy, and the love interest was not that great, but probably partly just me not able to accept older woman in movies, though I wasn't that keen on Cate Blanchetts commie either, we've seen enough actorres camping it up. Overall entertaining, just.
