From: lyonel winnie Category: Art Date: 10 May 2008 Time: 05:24 PM Review: http://www.serpentinegallery.org/2007/04/maria_lassnigmarch_2008.html Some nice colours and swishy strokes, reminding one of photos, baselitz, and a general middle european style of painting. We probably didnt realise she was responsible for some of this. Why don't have more of a retrospective of her work, somehow would be more interesting for a not that known artist in the UK. Yes, she's old and yes she's a woman, which adds some novelty to her subjectivity in art-world terms, but her paintings are just quite good and nothing amazing.
