From: JJ Category: Art Date: 16 April 2008 Time: 05:30 AM Review: Well fair points a lot of them.. And hope to make it better. In some ways I wonder why do a magazine at all? (well I for one find it interesting linking text and exhibition). One good selfish reason is I am learning quite a lot of stuff about laying out the pages (slow improvement I know!). I think it needs to get scrappier and uglier. The Free Art Fair magazine worked in a way because it was mostly hand done. And the first rebel had the meat of the matthew collings article and the provocation of the 50 least important people... The Honesty issue lacked direction. One thing that is really hard is finding good writing to put in it. you don't have a lot of stuff to choose from and really get the cream in there. I know I know that's my fault too, should be more organised about asking people.. please do send suggestions or post them here. One idea i had was to have one part of the team just designing (know anybody?) and leave me Harry and gretta more time to come up with content and of course push the design forward.
