From: Worm Category: Art Date: 05 April 2008 Time: 10:28 AM Review: I hate Anthony Gormley, and I hate Juan Munoz. They could cut themselves in half and stick themselves together, to form Anthony Munoz, it wouldn't make any difference to their sculptures. Juan's would be a couple of inches taller and Gormley's a couple shorter. They might be like worms and the discarded halves would grow extra bits, and then imagine the endless supply of bodies there would be inhabiting every gallery every museum and biennale. Horrible casts would be all over the place being nothing but wooden (but metal). Metal is exciting, look at all the exciting metal things there are all over the place, out side the giant structures, imagine working with metal, such a difficult material to get at and then if you have a big studio and etc. you could do it a lot. But its interesting because I hate those people, the nasty Munoz ones I saw a few years ago in Venice sitting on a bench that made me want to vomit, but together in a room if you stand amongst them it makes one feel weird, the same with the horrible Gormley's hanging from the ceiling and side of the wall the fact is that it makes interesting spaces (I know how boring) but I don't think that they have to be human figures they could be blocks or any thing and it would be better perhaps. How come they are so old and so stupid? Do I have to carry on feeling like this for the rest of my life? www.tate.org.uk/modern/exhibitions/juanmunoz/default.shtm -
