I think it's an amazing institution, pitting the minnows against the giants in the way that no other sport ( I know) does. Take, last weekend, Liverpool v. Havant & Waterlooville, a side composed of only one professional footballer from a minor league. They managed to be ahead of one of the best clubs in the world, twice! It shows you what football, and indeed any sport, and perhaps human endeavour is made of, clearly raw talent but also passion and self-belief.
