Review:

Didn't the structure of the show really irritate you? The whole 'great family of man' style truisms
about painters dealing with life, death, work, play and all that shit? The room headings could
easily be applied to a number of art histories since the 1960s. Like reading someone else's
horoscope to see how easily what's said can be applied to anyone and anything I imagined the works
in the 'Leisure and Everyday Life' section being put into the 'Work' section, or the 'Modern
Individuals' or 'Family and Friends' section and realised that the whole thing was totally
interchangeable and meaningless. The work itself was o-kay but mostly bland bland bland, boring
boring boring, with some nice touches.
