I hope the guy whose protests he used (re-appropriated ) makes some money too. It would have been good to have him on the stage for the acceptance. I think this work is very subversive. But oddly institutions like the Tate can champion political art while ignoring political and ecnomic facts on their own doorstep. Maybe art to some extent functions so people can trouble about an issue in a safe environment and then think about the Christmas party. But who am I to judge? Am I rushing to buy charity cards and serve soup to the homeless? I earn £6.95 an hour so do I qualify to have a political opinion?
