Review:

Was going to borrow this from lovefilm but found it on youtube instead. Watched in 10 parts. Found it
very watchable. Enjoyed the sounds of the Russian language and the landscapes of a desolate
Russia during WW2. Made me think a little bit about being in a war situation and not having time to
be scared of death nor go through various other emotions. The dreamy sequences mixed in rather
well in with the gritty goings-on of Ivan, a scout for the Red Army, and his surrogate family of privates
and officers. Was slightly annoyed that I already knew the ending from reading wikipedia. They didn't
put their usual warning.
