Review:

Rufus Wainwright, bedecked in diamante brooches and patchwork multicoloured suit belted out song
after song to rapturous applause and adulatuion. In the second part he came on stage in tight
lederhosen and thick wool socks and more gems poured forth. Every sinew in his body squeezing out
the incredible range of his voice. Consumate musicians accompanied. A special for this concert was
the Halloween hats and make up they donned in the break... Just as we thought it couldnt get better
, it did. Rufus sited his mother Kate MacGarrigall as the motivation behind his un-amplified
rendition of Irish folk song: Macushla. Finally during the encore he peeled of a the big white robe
he had put on to reveal his Judy Garland outfit - jacket, tights, trilby and 6" heels and performed
"Get Happy" - never have been so happy at the end of a concert......
