From: gordon Category: TV Date: 01 November 2007 Time: 09:04 AM Review: Amercian reality tv is always more contrived and editorialised than UK reality. Add in enormous amounts of product placement and glamorous hosts and contestants, barbie and ken and a few handsome geeks and youve got the picture. A bit like the food too, though I think on balance UK apprentice etc is tastier. Hells Kitchen US is mainly Ramsay swearing and going on, which may be entertaining to the yanks. The peculiar thing about it is that the contestants are less muscular and attractive than the usual clothes store dummies paraded on these shows especially in America. They, gasp, seem mostly quite working class and ordinary looking, which surprise surprise actually makes the show more affecting, in that the prize seems to matter.
