From: Category: Exhibitions Date: 29 September 2007 Time: 08:04 AM Review: I heard about this new gallery from a friend, he mentioned that I should have a look. So off I went down to Leonard Street to find the famous Griffin Pub that is usually being propped up by new up and coming Indy bands such as The Klaxons or The Horrors. The Gallery is open on Fri, Sat, (12 - 6pm) and Sun (1pm - 6pm). I went on a Saturday, the gallery is based up on the 1st floor, to access this you need to go passed the bar and up a narrow staircase just behind the jukebox. When I was up I was greeted by a friendly face and was pleasantly surprised to see a small but beautifully curated exhibition. What a contrast from what is going on at the moment in Vyner Street, small is beautiful. The exhibition humours title LADY HOLIC, has five male artists showing: Jonathan Baldock, Andy Jackson, Peter Lamb, Daniel Pasteiner, Danny Rolph. Rolph & Lamb being the more established of the five are showing two good sized works along side the more recent graduates from Goldsmiths and Royal College. All works have been selected well, each one interact with each other. If you like colour and exciting abstract painting, this show is for you. For a first exhibition in this new space it is saying "I’m here and I am serious". Highly recommended to everyone.
