From: mick Category: Films Date: 12 August 2007 Time: 03:56 PM Review: Simply revolting, like a shit pie. A patronising saccharine feel-good, a bit surreal, comedy about a pregnant waitress with a hands-on husband. All played for queasy sentimental but spunky (happy but not too happy ending) whimsy and light laughter. The pie cooking metaphor is not even vaguely convincing and not the slightest hunger is stirred. Its like most movies these days, no humanity, just the signs and forms of stock characters and plots, maybe a little mixed up with further distancing irony or weirdness. Still like most muck, watchable.
